Galina Fridman was born in Moscow, Russia. Her mother had a beautiful voice and dreamt of a career of an opera singer. She instilled the love of performing in her daughter. Galina’s love for Art was born early in childhood. At the age of seven, she was enrolled in music school for piano lessons and ballet school.The doors were open for a career of the dancer, however at twenty she met a young and promising sculptor and decided instead to raise a family. The time went by. Family had grown. She became a mother of two beautiful children. But the love for Art, Theatre and Music never went away. Being a wife and a mother, she still found the time to finish the State University Literary Faculty and became a professional critic and observer of the art in Moscow. Her articles on the Ballet, Gallery openings, and Theatre performances were highly respected and published in the News Art sections and Art Magazines in Russia.In 1973, the Family immigrated to Canada, where Galina continued to work as an Art and Cultural observer for American, Canadian, and Russian publications, such as: Russian Canadian INFO, Canadian Courier, Gazeta Plus, The West East, Kstati, Bonus. Her cultural reviews could also be heard on the radio - Air Waives Radio Plus AM 1430.Today Galina Fridman lives in San Francisco, where she continues to provide information on Art Museums, Theatre performance, Ballet, Music concerts, and Gallery openings for various Russian language newspapers and magazines throughout the world. Ballet is still the love of her life, for deep inside she continues to be a dancer.
